Will Keurig’s forthcoming Kold home beverage system be as popular as its single-serve coffeemakers?
While that question will be answered in due time, Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent feels the answer will be “yes.”
Bloomberg reported that Kent, in a recent conference call, said Kold might be a “hotter” item than Keurig’s coffeemakers. He noted that Kold should have faster household penetration than its hot beverage brethren.
Keurig is expected to unveil Kold in May with the appliance scheduled to hit retail store shelves in time for the fourth quarter holiday selling season.
The report also indicated that Kent is pleased with the Kold system, which includes the machines, pods and pricing.
Coca-Cola currently owns 16% of Keurig Green Mountain.
