Report: Dollar General Working With Feds Over Family Dollar Bid

Discussions between Dollar General and U.S. regulators over the unsolicited bid to buy Family Dollar Stores continue, according to a report Friday by the Wall St. Journal.

A vote by Dollar Tree on the Family Dollar $8.5 billion bid remains scheduled for Tuesday. Few details have emerged regarding what issues federal regulators have regarding the deal.

Friday’s report said Dollar General officials are willing to work with the Federal Trade Commission regarding what divestitures would be required to complete the deal.
