Following news that J.C. Penney would close its Wisconsin distribution center, the department store retailer is also shutting eight stores following a post-holiday review, according to a report from the Dallas Morning News.
According to the report, the eight stores are located in St. Louis; Paramus, NJ; Mt. Vernon, OH; Galesburg, IL; Burlington, WA; Calexico, CA; Bartlesville, OK; and Alexandria, MN. About 480 employees will be impacted by the closings.
In addition, the company said it would not reopen its Humacao, Puerto Rico, store, one of seven damaged by Hurricane Maria.
The closing of eight locations comes a year after the Plano, TX-based retailer announced the closure of 140 stores across the country.
