As Lidl moves forward with its U.S. expansion plans, the discount grocery is eying growth in the Atlanta marketplace.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported that Lidl is planning to open as many as seven new stores in the near future. No timetable on the new store openings have been announced, said the report, which cited planning and construction documents obtained by the Chronicle.
The brand currently has four stores in Georgia; Snellville, southwest Marietta, Mableton and Augusta.
William Harwood, a spokesperson for the company, confirmed that the supermarket chain is expanding in the Atlanta metro area with a number of sites currently in development.
