Ongoing labor issues at west coast ports are continuing to negatively impact shipments needed by retailers for holiday shoppers.
Bloomberg on Thursday reported that FedEx has shifted resources and is limiting some shipments to avoid a last-minute surge before Christmas.
As previously reported by homeworldbusiness.com, housewares suppliers have expressed concerns over shipment delays related to labor issues at key west coast ports in California and elsewhere.
Retailers including Macy’s are feeling the impact of delayed shipments and the department store’s CEO Terry Lundgren had called on President Barack Obama to help solve the issue. The National Retail Federation also asked the President to intervene in the dispute.
