Jeremy King, Walmart’s chief technology officer, is leaving the company, ending a tenure that began nearly eight years ago, CNBC reported, citing an internal memo from the retailer. His last day is March 29.
According to the memo that was published by CNBC, King joined Walmart during the early days of what would later become Walmart Labs and played a key role in “building capabilities that empower (Walmart) associates and better serve (its) customers.”
More recently, King’s role expanded and Walmart Labs evolved to power the retailer’s U.S. e-commerce platform and its U.S. stores, according to the memo.
Fiona Tan, svp/customer technology, Walmart Labs, will take an “elevated role” following King’s departure.
