Restoration Hardware Debuts New Design Gallery In Manhattan

Restoration Hardware (RH) has opened a new-model design gallery in New York City, locating it in Manhattan’s now-trendy Meat Packing District as a showcase for its latest thinking about store design.

In introducing the gallery, Restoration Hardware said the company believes it will be the most innovative new retail experience in the world.

The store incorporates elements such as a contemporary steel and glass structure, massive chandeliers and various fountains and other water features in a structure rising up five floors through an historic brick facade that ties the building to the neighborhood’s industrial/commercial past.

The new gallery encompasses 90,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space including a rooftop café with a view to the Freedom Tower. The central atrium showcases stacked cast iron columns, a grand staircase that features the art installation New York Night by Los Angeles-based artist and designer Alison Berger, and a glass elevator that transports customers to each floor and the rooftop restaurant with retractable doors opening, there, on to a landscaped garden that includes outdoor seating.

The store offers full floors housing RH Interiors, Modern, Outdoor, Baby & Child, and Teen product assortments as well as RH Interior Design offices supporting the onsite team, and an expansive Design Atelier with private presentation rooms for clients. The gallery also provides a Barista Bar & Outdoor Wine Terrace.
