Rite Aid has promoted Matt Schroeder to svp/chief accounting officer and treasurer, effective immediately. He will continue to report to Darren Karst, the company’s svp/CFO and chief administrative officer.
Schroeder, who is currently gvp/strategy, investor relations and treasurer, is assuming the chief accounting officer responsibilities from Doug Donley, who is retiring after more than 20 years with the company. He joined Rite Aid in 2000 as vp/financial accounting and was promoted to his current role in 2010. Prior to joining the company, Schroeder worked for Arthur Andersen.
The company also said that Brian Hoover, who is currently vp/financial accounting, has been promoted to gvp/controller, reporting to Schroeder.
“Matt is a highly regarded member of Rite Aid’s management team who has deep knowledge of our business and the overall retail health care industry,” Karst said. “I am confident we will continue to benefit from Matt’s expertise and leadership in our efforts going forward.”
