Royal Copenhagen has unveiled the Hav dinnerware collection, which will be available in North America this fall.
According to the company, Hav means “ocean.” The new Hav collection is the first for Royal Copenhagen from the KiBiSi designers— Bjarke Ingels, Lars Holme Larsen, and Jens Martin Skibsted. The dinnerware series includes nine pieces: a teapot ornamented with a bronze handle; hybrid bowl and carafe; thermal mug; plates of two different sizes; and three different sizes of bowls.
Inspired by one of Royal Copenhagen’s dinner services from the 1800s, Hav features a fish scale detail in a blue/green/black color which is reminiscent of a coastline in the morning mist, the company said. A hand-spray painting technique is used to get the specific color and gradient.
