Sears Hometown & Outlet Stores is in the process of completing a “reinvention” of its appliance retail strategy that will include a new product assortment along with new fixtures and signage.
The company is in the midst of a two-phase refresh of 51 Hometown Stores across the United States, with grand opening celebrations scheduled for April 23-25. The refresh includes a new product assortment, redesigned merchandising, new fixtures and signage, and comprehensive training for floor associates, among other changes, company officials said.
“With improved selling floors and enhanced technologies, our customers will have a shopping experience unmatched by any of our competitors,” said Bruce Johnson, company president/CEO, Sears Hometown & Outlet Stores.
According to the company, in the new store design, appliances will occupy more than half of the sales floor and include more brands with an improved presentation. The stores will also focus its selection on products from Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Samsung and Kenmore.
The new floor plan will showcase complete kitchen packages in vignettes along with areas designated specifically for laundry.
The initial 51 Sears Hometown Stores to be transformed are located in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Texas and Vermont.
