Seasonal Decor Gains Greater Presence At National Hardware Show

The National Hardware Show will offer attendees more home décor products in its Seasonal section during the event’s next run, May 10-12, 2011, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The expansion will focus on holiday decorations, lighting, figures and related items that will help hardware stores, home centers and specialty retailers compete more effectively for seasonal sales, according to the show organization. It points out that seasonal purchases in product categories such as home décor can generate sales year around as consumers who are shopping for holiday items become more familiar with a retailer’s broader assortment.
Offering evidence of seasonal product importance to retailers visiting the show, organizers quoted Deborah Shearer, vp/marketing and merchandising of Organize.com as saying, “Seasonal has become an important category for Organize.com, where holiday storage for Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands, lights, ornaments and décor is at its peak in December and January. Stocking stuffers have always been a key component of our holiday assortment, but we see our customer looking to us for holiday décor, tabletop and entertaining while they shop Organize.com during the holiday season.”
