Shark has introduced the Shark Ion Robot Cleaning System, which combines two products in one: a robot vacuum and a built-in handheld vacuum.
The robotic vacuum features Smart Sensor Proximity Navigation, which assesses the robot’s surroundings so it can move around obstacles such as stairs and ledges. A self-cleaning brushroll combines with dual-side edge and corner brushes to capture hair, dust, dander and allergens.
The unit is also WiFi and voice enabled so users can schedule or start cleaning from anywhere with the Shark Ion Robot app, or use voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The two vacuums also charge in one dock.
The Shark Ion W1 cordless handheld vacuum features an ultra-lightweight portable design and a high-speed brushless motor. Weighing 1.4 pounds, it includes a tapered nozzle for easy debris pickup and two accessories for pet hair, upholstery and tight spaces. Between cleanings, the vacuum can be returned to the charging dock for easy access, fast recharging and onboard accessory storage, the company said.
“At Shark, we exist to provide cleaning solutions that make everyday life easier,” said Mark Rosenzweig, CEO of SharkNinja. “The Shark Ion Robot Cleaning System combines the best of both worlds, and gives you the ultimate in cleaning convenience.”
The Shark Ion Robot Cleaning System is available at retailers nationwide and on the Shark Clean website for a suggested retail price of $499.99. The cordless handheld vacuum is also sold separately for a suggested retail price of $129.99.
