Google and commerce network Skipify have partnered to enable effective shopping and purchasing, inside of Gmail.
Email has emerged as the highest-ROI marketing channel, according to Skipify. With online revenue growing at nearly five times pre-COVID levels, email has never been more important to brands, the company noted, but it takes shoppers nearly two minutes to purchase products from emails, which results in 70% of shoppers abandoning an intended purchase.
The new Skipify Shoppable Email program unlocks real time product information and a fully functional Shopping Cart inside of email. The company asserted that merchants participating in the Shoppable Email program have seen email generated revenue increase 30% and even as unsubscribe rates dropped by 50%.
