Sophistiplate has completed the acquisition of Simply Baked by Christy Designs, a Bend, Oregon-based company that designs disposable entertaining items. The company’s product line includes categories such as serveware, barware, cookware and bakeware, and includes eco-friendly and bio-degradable options.
According to Sophistiplate, the two companies share a similar brand aesthetic and ethos. Both companies are striving to enhance disposable products so entertaining becomes easier without losing any sense of elegance and creativity to the occasion, the company noted. The company will continue to grow both brands in addition to designing their offerings so that a complete disposable party can be curated in a mix and match fashion. The combined businesses will continue to focus on design forward specialty retailers and specialty grocery and high-end food service accounts.
“By combining Simply Baked by Christy Designs disposable entertaining products with Sophistiplates disposable tableware, we complete the party. The combination strengthens both portfolios and our relationships with independent retailers, making us a much deeper strategic partner to our customers. It also allows us to leverage resources more effectively and invest in product development, future innovation and design,” said Daniel Seehoff, Sophistiplate co-founder and CEO.
The companies plan to consolidate all marketing, sales, office and operational functions in Bend, Oregon. Both teams will continue intact and will begin integrating effective immediately, the company said.
