NEW YORK— As retailers continue to find ways to spark small electrics sales, Crate & Barrel has added several appliances to its in-store and online assortments. Recent additions, including several in eye-catching colors, allow the home specialty retailer to broaden its mix from a style standpoint as well as expanding its pricepoint structure.
A recent visit by HOMEWORLD BUSINESS® to the retailer’s Manhasset, NY-location revealed an electrics assortment that featured largely mid-tier to high-end appliances with an array of electric coffeemakers co-mingled with non-electric items.
With retailers continually challenged to educate consumers on the latest coffee making appliances and accessories on the market, Crate & Barrel featured a point-of-purchase display that highlights several options. The signage describes numerous brewing styles and the coffeemakers that offer features to meet each.
In addition, an assortment of high-end blenders from Vitamix were given prominent shelf space, and a mix of kitchen appliances including slow cookers, food processors and toasters were dominant among the remainder of the store’s small electrics selection.
As with most retailers, Crate & Barrel’s in-store and online assortments have some overlap but also differ. Recent additions to the e-commerce electrics assortment include small appliances from Smeg, KitchenAid, Dualit, Dash, Zojirushi, Cuisinart and Breville.
