Spectrum Brands is showcasing its Black + Decker kitchen appliances, placing renewed emphasis on the coffee category as well as augmenting its assortment of air fryers, toaster ovens and slow cookers.
“We believe our brands are well positioned for growth in 2020,” said Jonathan Schaefer, divisional vice president, marketing home and personal care, Spectrum Brands. “Spectrum Brands is investing in advertising and research to better understand the needs of our consumers and to let them know that we have the right products to meet those needs.”
Spectrum is focusing on adding functionality to its Black + Decker small appliances, particularly in coffeemakers, where featured styles include a new 12-Cup Programmable Black Stainless Coffeemaker and a new 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker.
“Coffee continues to be one of our strengths, and we are offering a range of updated models in the $25 to $29 retail price range, in the $30 to $50 price range as well as in the $50 to $60 price range,” Schaefer said. “When it comes to coffee, we have something for everyone, offering innovative features at affordable pricepoints.”
Black + Decker also is continuing to expand in air fryers, and air fryer/toaster oven combination units. Suggested retails on toaster ovens range from $40 to $129; retails on air fryers and combination units range from $50 to $150.
“We are showcasing air fryer technologies because of the strength and growth in that market,” Schaefer noted. “Black + Decker stands for high-quality, affordable products that offer the consumers the features they need and want.”
Another new kitchen electric is the Black + Decker Sous Vide Slow Cooker (shown below), which offers consumers the variable temperature controls necessary for this low temperature long time cooking method.
Spectrum is supporting its Black + Decker brand with a range of initiatives to engage consumers, including the creation of a Black & Decker online community and point-of-purchasing merchandising programs for retailers.
