A national survey and peer review program from The Values Institute has anointed Amazon as America’s most trustworthy brand.
The survey from the market research firm also listed Marriott, Microsoft, Hilton and Southwest Airlines as the next most trustworthy brands.
“Amazon is somewhat of a surprise to top the list because the brand actual lacks face-to-face human contact,” said Mark Weinfeld, director of strategic planning, The Values Institute. “Amazon has done an amazing job of creating that personal touch that may even exceed what you get at a brick and mortar location.”
Other retailers on the list, in descending order, were Costco, Target, Macy’s, Walmart and Sears. Retail was one of seven sectors evaluated, the others being hotels, electronics, quick service restaurants, airlines, auto insurance and mobile services.
