In the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index, Costco again leads the pack among department and discount store shoppers.
The company’s ranking, at 83, is flat year over year, as number two Nordstrom managed to add a point, coming in at 81 after an 80 score for 2016. BJ’s Wholesale Club, Fred Meyer and Sam’s Club come in next with an 80.
The top five specialty stores are L Brands, Cabela’s, Barnes & Noble and O’Reilly Auto Parts with scores from 85 to 81, immediately followed by Bed Bath & Beyond, Menards and TJX at 80. In the health and personal care sector, Kmart and Kroger were tops with an 80 score followed by Albertsons and CVS, tied at 78, and Rite Aid and Walgreens, tied at 77.
In the supermarket channel, Publix posted an 86 index score followed by Trader Joe’s, just a point back, Aldi and Wegman’s tied at 84. Amazon topped the Internet retail segment at 85 followed by New Egg at 83, and eBay and Overstock at 81.
