Surya celebrated the official opening of its new corporate office space and distribution center earlier this week with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house.
The new facility, located in Cartersville, GA, north of Atlanta, includes 81,000 square feet of office space and 955,000 square feet of warehouse space.
The new center provides the home accessories company with more than twice the warehouse capacity of its Calhoun, GA, distribution operation. The expansion and new state-of-the-art logistics center will enable the company to further increase operational efficiencies as it serves a growing base of more than 15,000 retailer and designer customers, Surya stated.
“When I joined my family’s business in 2004, I had a lot of dreams and ambition,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “Not only did I want to give small, independent furniture retailers a way to enter the home accessories business, but I also wanted to create jobs and make a lasting positive impact on the community, both locally and globally. When I reflect on how far we’ve come in the 40 years since my father, Surya Tiwari, founded Surya to create a better life for families in rural India, I am humbled and deeply grateful. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to start the next phase of this amazing journey.”
