The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) will feature a panel discussion on Sustainability at its Annual Member Meeting
to be held Sunday, April 25th and 26th, 2010 at the
Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa
Litchfield Park, AZ.
The two-day event will include a special panel discussion by sustainability experts to help AHAM define its role in this area. Michael Chenard, director/environmental affairs with Lowe’s Companies, representatives from the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association, relevant standards bodies and other experts about processes for measuring sustainability will participate in the panel discussion, to be held Monday, April 26 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The discussion will look to address such questions as, how should sustainability be measured for appliances and appliance manufacturers? How can products be measured and compared in a way that is meaningful to consumers? What work is being done in this area? What are other industries doing? Should there be standards to guide the industry and consumers? What do retailers see as drivers for consumers?
