While the NRF reported that Black Friday sales were down this year, Swiss Diamond experienced a 36% increase in orders placed during the shopping day, the company reported. Contributing to that increase was a 192% rise in e-commerce traffic to the cookware manufacturer’s website and a 146% increase in new visits, stated the company.
According to the company, the e-commerce growth during Black Friday indicated that many consumers are purchasing Swiss Diamond for the first time this holiday season. Swiss Diamond sauce pans saw the largest growth in sales at 165%, followed by fry pans at 56% and saute pans at 23%. Cookware set sales surged 161% while induction cookware increased 45%.
“With the retail sector’s negative outlook on the busiest holiday shopping weekend of the year, we were prepared for the worst. However, Swiss Diamond and the housewares industry as a whole have been pleasantly surprised by the growth our hard work has led to,” said RJ Manoni, Swiss Diamond’s e-commerce key account manager.
