Walmart Surprises Open Call Entrepreneurs

To promote its 6th annual Open Call event, scheduled for June 18 and 19, Walmart surprised 25 entrepreneurs across the country by asking the unsuspecting business owners to stop by their local Walmart stores prepared to pitch their products to store managers, at which point they were presented with Open Call invitations.

Walmart Open Call Stirs U.S. Entrepreneurs

The approximately 500 entrepreneurs from across the United States that made the 750 product pitches at Walmart’s corporate office in Bentonville, AK on Jun 28 as part of the company’s U.S. Manufacturing Open Call included a number of home-oriented potential suppliers including Decalomania, which offers augmented reality wall decals, and the Ontario Knife Co., which produces the Old Hickory 5-piece Cutlery Set.

Walmart Open Call Supports U.S.-Made Entrepreneurs

On June 28, Walmart is inviting more than 500 businesses from across the U.S. to pitch their Made in the U.S.A. products at its Bentonville, AR, headquarters, providing entrepreneurs the opportunity to potentially reach the retailer’s consumers in-store and online.
