LG Electronics USA has introduced three new connected window air conditioners featuring the company’s new dual inverter compressor technology.
LG Electronics USA’s portfolio of Wi-Fi connected smart appliances is now compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The company’s range of Wi-Fi enabled appliances includes air conditioners, air purifiers, vacuums and major appliances.
LG Electronics has created the ThinQ brand to identify its 2018 home appliances, consumer electronics and services that utilize artificial intelligence (AI).
While smart home appliances continue to enter the market, concerns over security and privacy have not waned. The latest example of smart home vulnerabilities within the housewares industry involved LG Electronics’ robotic vacuums and other smart home appliances.
LG has partnered with Google, rolling out Google Home compatibility on its portfolio of connected smart appliances, including a washing machine and dryer, refrigerator, oven range, air purifier, air conditioner and robotic vacuum.
LG Electronics broke ground on its North American headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The start of construction for the 350,000-square-foot sustainably designed building marks a major milestone for the $300 million project, which has been in the works since 2009.
