Lidl has opened its state-of-the-art regional headquarters and distribution center in Cecil County, Maryland. The new 700,000 square-foot facility will serve as the backbone of Lidl’s regional store network, supplying products to stores in five states.
Lidl has detailed actions it is taking to address the coronavirus pandemic as it has committed to hiring new workers and expanded health benefits.
In the first of several waves of openings on Long Island, New York, Lidl U.S. said it will open stores in Plainview, Babylon, Huntington, and Center Moriches by early 2020. The initiative follows the company’s recent acquisition of the Best Market grocery store chain.

A federal court judge has denied a request from supermarket giant Kroger that sought to prohibit Lidl from using a private brand logo that the former claimed was similar in look and could cause confusion with shoppers.
After opening its first stores in the U.S. earlier this month, Lidl will debut four more locations on July 13. The supermarket retailer will also establish a regional headquarters and distribution center in Cartersville, GA.
Lidl is opening the company’s first supermarkets in the U.S. on June 15, and in anticipation of the event, it is releasing its first-ever U.S. pricing leaflet.
