Consumers heading to their favorite stores to shop for their back-to-school/college needs are expected to increase their spending from 2016, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual consumer survey.
Staples has named Michelle Bottomley its new chief marketing officer. In this role, she will be responsible for marketing across the office superstore chain, helping to promote the company’s pivot to focusing on its North American delivery business.

In a new technology initiative, Staples has launched a beta test available on its mobile iOS app that allows consumers to send photos of back-to-school lists via the company’s Easy System and, as a result, prompt shoppers to populate their shopping carts with the products listed.
