Target continues to expand its smaller-sized, convenience-focused TargetExpress format and will open its latest store in Rosslyn, VA in October, the Washington Post reported.
According to the report, the Rosslyn store plans to offer a Starbucks counter and a grocery area with grab-and-go snacks and sandwiches. There will also be a tech area featuring GoPro cameras and tablets, as well as an apparel section.
The Rosslyn location is expected to be one of eight TargetExpress stores to open in 2015, the report noted. The TargetExpress format is said to merchandise essential items, and tailoring the merchandise to the customers it expects to attract from a particular neighborhood.
TargetExpress stores are typically about 20,000 square feet, much smaller than the company’s big-box stores that average about 135,000 square feet.
