With the holiday shopping season on the horizon, Target is building on several current programs officials with the retailer said will make finding the right gift for family and friends easier.
A focus for Target in the weeks ahead will be its various same-day services that include Drive Up, Order Pickup and Shipt.
Drive Up, which allows consumers to purchase items via its app and have those items brought to their car, is now available at Target stores in all 50 states.
Shipt is now available directly from Target.com and soon via the Target app, which gives shoppers additional discounts and purchase options. The program is available in 1,500 stores in 48 states.
Beginning November 1, Target shoppers will be able to access free shipping on hundreds of thousands of items with no minimum purchase or membership required. Free shipping will be offered through December 21.
In addition, the company said it is adding nearly $50 million in payroll compared to the 2018 holiday season. This includes doubling the number of team members dedicated to fulfillment and same-day services.
The retailer is also focused on the continued growth of Target Circle, the enrollment of which has reached 25 million since launching on October 6. During the holiday season, Target Circle members will have early access to select Black Friday doorbusters, Kids Daily Deals that will run from November 1 through November 27.
On the product side, Target ahead of the holidays is highlighting its selection of owned and national brands. In home, this includes brands such as Hearth & Hand, Magnolia and Threshold.
Other major product pushes include the Disney “shop-in-shop” program, an expanded assortment of toys and Wondershop that will include a broad selection of holiday decor.
