Target Reports Biggest Online Shopping Day Of 2018

Target said it had its highest single day of traffic and sales for the year on Tuesday, July 17, as the retailer offered deals on a host of products, including housewares, in an effort to combat Amazon’s Prime Day.

While the company did not offer specific figures on the number of website visits or dollars transacted, Target officials said that “millions of guests” bought a host of products including Dyson vacuums, Instant Pot multi-cookers, air fryers and items from the retailer’s proprietary home furnishings lines Project 62 and other collections.

The retailer noted that nearly 90% of orders completed through Target.com will be fulfilled directly from Target stores. This, company officials said, reflects the company’s effort to use its stores to ship products to its customers.
