Target is teaming up with Disney and will open a store at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL, as part of the new partnership. The retailer will also open in-store Disney shops in select locations that will feature not only Disney merchandise but also the entertainment company’s Star Wars and Marvel properties.
A Disney store at Target shop-in-shop program will launch at 25 select Target locations in October, with 40 more opening by October 2020. The initiative will also include a new digital component at Target.com/Disneystore, with the dedicated site launching October 4. Target already has a preview site in operation that encourages consumers to purchase the retailer’s existing Disney products.
The Disney store at Target will offer more than 450 items, the retailer noted, including toys, games, apparel and accessories with more than 100 products that were previously only available at Disney retail locations. Product prices will range from $2 to $200, with many items under $20. Consumers will be able to shop Disney Princess, Star Wars, Marvel and Disney Junior characters, as well as Classic Disney plush, apparel, home and holiday products, along with collectibles like the Disney Animators’ Collection.
The Target store at Disney’s Orlando resort will open in 2021.
