As retail stores begin to order for the fourth quarter, Taylor, parent company of Metrokane, Chef’n and Taylor, welcomed the media to preview the company’s newest kitchenware and barware offerings for the holidays at the Eventi hotel in New York City yesterday.
For Chef’n, the company’s newest brand which it acquired towards the end of 2014, baking accessories and gadgets were the focus. The company entered the category several years ago, according to vp/product development Sarah Heitman, and the additions to the baking line show Chef’n’s commitment to the category. Included in the launch is a Sugar Cube folding cake and cupcake carrier, a cookie press, Sweet Sheet silicone baking mat, cookie stamp “Beach,” “Sweet Ride,” and “XL” holiday sets, and two new Cook-ease Sets which cut out cookie pieces to create a 3D train or house. The company is also adding a new Quick Stick snack slicer and Sawsall squash and melon tool to its core assortment of fruit and vegetable prep items.
For Metrokane, beer and gift were two key categories that the company is expanding. The company revealed a partnership with Sam Adams that will bring the beer brand’s signature glass in stainless steel, as well as a growler. For gift, new wine totes featuring collapsible capabilities or new materials like neoprene will be added to the company’s line. A collection of decorative paper wine gift bags were also introduced as well as a new shape for the company’s novelty wine bottle stoppers.
Taylor’s own time and measurement company, a new slow cooker thermometer was showcased. The thermometer offers a four-inch probe and high-temp resistant body that can attach directly to a slow cooker. The company also showcased the Anywhere Watch Timer that acts as a bracelet to monitor temps on the go. Taylor was also showcasing its Temp-perfect line which, after an exclusive launch at Sur La Table, is now available for retail.
