CHICAGO— As it celebrates its 19th year in business, Totally Bamboo has turned its attention to adding new materials beyond bamboo to its new product lineup, launched here, at the International Home + Housewares Show.
The Rock & Branch by Totally Bamboo collection includes goods made from a variety of natural materials including acacia wood, slate, marble, brass and bamboo. The line will launch with two serving boards, a salt box and two boards representing California and Texas. The five SKU lineup will have a suggested retail price range of $25 to $50.
The company will also introduce its A Spin Around Series of cutting and serving boards. The new collection is said to transform the company’s Destination Series concept around in a bold, modern twist. These state-shaped boards feature the engraved names of the top places in each state spun around a hip engraved representation of the state’s name in the center. The A Spin Around Series can be used as home décor, serving or as a knife-friendly cutting board on its reverse side. Sized a little smaller than the original Destination Series, the boards have an MSRP of $20.
In addition, the company will also be expanding its Destination Series cutting and serving boards which now features 60 boards. All 50 states are represented along with individual Hawaiian Islands, Puerto Rico, several Canadian provinces and Mexico. Each board is cut to the shape of the place it represents and features engraved artwork of the cities, towns and places that each place is known for. These versatile boards are ideal for serving, hanging on the wall as décor or as a cutting board on the reverse side. Each board in the line has an SRP of $30.
The new A Slice of Life series of cutting and serving boards is said to bring the Destination Series artwork approach to a more functional 11-inch bamboo cutting board. The boards are designed for serving or cutting, and can be positioned as a gift or souvenir item. The A Slice of Life Series ships in a colorful 12-piece CDU that features imagery of Americana around its exterior, to help catch consumer attention, said Totally Bamboo. The A Slice of Life Series boards have an SRP of $15 each.
Totally Bamboo’s new 13-inch Crushed Bamboo serving board is crafted from dense, durable crushed bamboo. It has the weight and feel of a hardwood while still possessing the environmental and functional benefits of bamboo, said the company. The richly colored serving board also features a stainless steel handle and slight gutter around its perimeter. The Crushed Bamboo serving board has an SRP of $15.
The Double Dipper Salt Box from Totally Bamboo features twin six-ounce salt boxes and is designed to keep two salts or seasonings easily within reach, be it on a dining table, near a stove or outdoor grill. The bamboo spoons included store within the salt boxes. The Double Dipper also features a bamboo holding tray to keep the boxes in place. The salt box carries an SRP of $15.
Tapping into the wave of eco-friendly straws, Totally Bamboo will introduce its reusable bamboo drinking straws. The straws have a natural bamboo look with the strength of bamboo for continued use. They are dishwasher safe and sold in an eight pack with a cleaning brush for an SRP of $6.
