Kmart is launching a range of initiatives to promote itself as a trend-smart, value-conscious retailer and those have influenced its promotions for back-to-school and back to campus.
The school related promotions include kid-oriented products available at no cost during Freebie Saturdays and fashionable global black and white and other now-popular styles for students. Highlights include a Cruz black futon on sale for $99.99, down from a $159.99 regular price, as part of its back-to-campus product line up. Other domestic deals include storage ottomans for $19.99, regularly $29.99, large stacking crates for $3.99, regularly $4.99, Essential Home decorative storage for $9.99, regularly $15.99, and Emoticon puff pillows, in heart eyes, wink, monkey, crying and nerd designs, for $5.99.
“This year, Kmart has kids and parents covered,” said Kelly Cook, Kmart’s chief marketing officer. “Kmart’s No Money Down layaway gives parents the option to plan ahead, while offering all of the stuff students love from hot trends such as emoticons and favorite characters, to geo prints and big florals that make campus dorm rooms bold and bright.”
