At the True Value 2020 Spring Reunion, the retailer’s convention for affiliated stores and other independent hardware dealers, the theme “Thrive” will emphasize the opportunity inherent in the current economic and consumer environment.
At the event, running from February 13 to 16 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, more than 6,000 people, including 2,500 independent retailers and 3,000 vendors from around the world, will traverse 450,000 square feet of show floor, True Value stated. The event will feature attendee-only deals, networking opportunities and on-the-floor training.
The event kicks off with a reception followed, as part of the Spring Reunion educational program, by keynote speaker Taylor St. Germain of ITR Economics. His “Planning with Optimism” presentation will explore the near-term economy and how to prepare for business challenges and opportunities. For participants looking for business-building ideas, processes and techniques, the Retailer Best Practices Conference will run throughout each day from February 13 to 15 on the show floor.
True Value noted that product promotions as organized on the show floor include: Assortment City, a 35,000 square foot shopping area with more than 500 product assortments by department; Bargain Burner, aone-day deal offering discounts up to 60% on more than 100 items; Closeout Corner, where retailers can browse discounts up to 85% on overstock products as part of the presentation; and Discount City, a spot to discover discounts on over 1,000 bulk and pallet items from vendors in every department.
The Spring Reunion also will feature a General Session on the afternoon of February 14 featuring True Value’s senior leadership team showcasing how the company is thinking differently, taking action and continuously innovating to help customers to thrive in a rapidly changing retail environment, the company maintained.
