Tabletops Unlimited, through its Rove brand, raised more than $25,000 for Comic Relief Inc. under 24 hours, as part of the charity’s Red Nose Day, which “works to raise money for children and young people through the power of laughter,” according to the company.
Armed with a jovial image of Dar Molayem, TTU co-founder and CMO, the team launched a social media campaign via its Rove brand that went viral, reaching nearly half a million people in less than 24 hours, the company said. The entire company joined in, with employees adding snap shots of themselves sporting a red nose. Rove committed to donating $1 for every image like and $10 for every image share the photo received.
“As soon as we heard about Red Nose Day 2015 we knew we had to get involved,” said Molayem. “Social media is a powerful tool for change and Rove is all about empowering individuals ‘to be the change.’ We’re so proud of our digital family and passionate employees for getting behind the efforts and using this platform as a vehicle for change,” he added.
