Tuesday Morning has appointed Jim Wade as an independent member of the company’s Board of Directors effective immediately. Wade comes to the company with 35 years of retail experience and will serve on the company’s Audit Committee.
Wade’s announcement follows a number of leadership changes at Tuesday Morning since April, including hiring of a new svp/marketing, Susan Davidson; svp/operations, Philip Hixon; evp/gmm Melissa Phillips; and two new board members: Guitar Center executive Frank Hamlin and Supervalu executive Sherry Smith.
Wade serves on the board of Virginia-based Advanced Auto Parts where he first served as treasurer in 1994. He retired as president in 2011 with responsibilities that included do-it-yourself and commercial business, the company said. Since his time as treasurer, the company expanded from 300 stores to more than 5,200 and increased revenue to $9.3 billion, the company said. Wade also currently serves on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Lumber Liquidators Holdings, Inc. and numerous non-profit, industry and educational boards.
“We welcome Jim to the Tuesday Morning Board of Directors, where his retail, logistics and operational experience will be highly complementary to the Board’s ongoing work,” said Steven R. Becker, Chairman of the Board. “In particular, his integral role establishing Advance Auto Parts as a leading customer service-focused organization carries important lessons for Tuesday Morning, and we look forward to benefiting from his expertise.”
