After purchasing office and warehouse space it once leased, Walker Edison has launched an expansion program, the company has announced, one that will increase warehouse capacity from 30,000 to 40,000 square feet and double the company’s office space.
The office expansion, which Walker Edison will accomplish by renovating the building, will take the total administrative space to 3,500 square feet.
The new design features include an open bullpen style main office, two additional management offices, an enlarged break room and a fully outfitted gym with locker room and shower facilities, the company noted. The new layout will allow the Walker Edison team to work together more efficiently, the company added, and provide better customer service.
“Over the previous two calendar years we have experienced double-digit growth,” said Brad Bonham, Walker-Edison CEO. “To keep up with this growth and to prepare for future growth we need to have a warehouse to accommodate the increasing volume of product for distribution and the necessary office space for our staff. In addition to increasing our facility our goal is to make our workspace much more conducive to a collaborative and efficient, ‘Live Outside the Box’ type work environment. The look and design of the new space reflects the idea that we are a progressive ‘tech-like’ company that just happens to sell furniture.”
Office renovations should be completed by mid-April, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the debut of the upgraded facility will follow shortly after, the company said.
