On March 17, Walker Edison said that it would donate desks to individuals who now find themselves working and teaching their kids remotely and are unable to afford a desk in their home, an offer that generated significant response.
The offer included both a desk and free shipment. The only thing the company asked in making the offer was that recipients seek opportunities to lift the spirits of those around them.
Since then, Walker Edison noted, the post enjoyed hundreds of shares, and the company has been flooded with email responses from across the U.S. In response, Walker Edison donated over 500 desks to individuals and families.
In addition, as part of its commitment to supporting organizations that provide food to kids in need, Walker Edison has allocated $100,000 to help fight child hunger during this time of social distancing.
“Extending a hand to those that need is at the very core of what we do at Walker Edison,” said Brad Bonham, Walker Edison CEO. “Please join us during this difficult time in lifting others by helping those in need. Let’s stay positive, safe and healthy as we confront this as a worldwide family. We will survive this, together.”
