Walmart Claims Cyber Monday Record

Walmart announced yesterday that Cyber Monday 2013 was the biggest online sales day in its history. Although it didn’t provide dollar figures, the company said the five-day period from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday was the highest five-day stretch in online sales it has had to date, and that it processed more than one billion page views during that period.

“We had an all-time record sales day as the momentum we saw on Thanksgiving carried through to Cyber Monday,” said Joel Anderson, president and CEO, U.S. “We’re committed to giving our customers the best savings on the gifts they want most this holiday season, and we’re offering 200 online specials every day through Friday so customers can make the most of their budgets.”

Outside of the electronic/toy gift assortment, among the top sellers was a tilting wall mount wth HDMI cable sized for 37-inch to 70-inch flat panel televisions, an item that also rated as among the most popular products among mobile shoppers.
