Walmart Extends Pay Platform To Four Southern States

Walmart has expanded its Walmart Pay option to Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Customers can now use Walmart Pay on the company’s mobile app to pay for purchases at the approximately 120 Walmart stores in Alabama, 180 in Georgia, 115 in Louisiana and 70 in Mississippi.

To use the app, customers visit a Walmart register and open the company’s app on their device, choose Walmart Pay and activate the tablet or smartphone camera. At any time during the checkout process, customers can scan the code displayed at the register to connect Walmart Pay. When the checkout person scans and bags purchases, the app rings them up and generates an e-receipt.

Daniel Eckert, svp/services, Walmart U.S., said, “We can’t wait to hear what our customers and associates think of Walmart Pay. The service was built to make shopping easier and faster. Walmart Pay is a powerful addition to our app, a tool that we’re using to transform the shopping experience by seamlessly connecting our online assets and our stores for customers. The service opens the door to new and better ways we can serve the 140 million customers who shop our stores each week.”
