Walmart said it wants to help consumers make the most of this year’s shortened holiday season with several new initiatives.
At midnight eastern time on Friday, October 25, the retailer will launch its earliest-ever holiday savings launch with an Early Deal Drop on Walmart.com. Consumers will find bargains in home, electronics, gaming, toys and sporting goods departments while supplies last. Deals include the Farberware 3.2 quart digital oil-less fryer for $39. Walmart plans to offer Deal Drops through the holiday season.
To simplify the holiday season for consumers, Walmart is offering various ways to shop including Gift Finder, which provides product options based on 40 different recipient profiles. Consumers provide recipient information and the price range they favor, and gift finder returns personalized gift recommendations.
Other shopping initiatives include a scannable toy catalog; Check Out With Me, in which a sales associate can help shoppers pay for goods on the sales floor; and the DotCom Store, where customers can work with company employees to place an online order in the store for delivery or pickup.
From November 2, Walmart will conduct retailtainment events including a Pokémon and Star Wars event on November 16 and 17 and a Frozen 2 event on November 23 and 24, not to mention appearances by Santa, who will make stops at Walmart stores nationwide on November 9 and December 7.
“This season, we are offering the ultimate in convenience for customers with new and existing ways to shop, so customers can prep for the season whenever and however they want. We’ve made it easier than ever for customers to tackle all of their holiday prep and more at Walmart,” said Ashley Buchanan, evp/chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S. e-commerce.
