Walmart has officially unveiled plans for a new headquarters campus in Bentonville, AR, with initial demolition and construction scheduled to begin this summer.
According to a post on Walmart.com written by Dan Bartlett, the retailer’s evp/corporate affairs, the new headquarters will include an array of amenities. This includes ample natural light, expanded food offerings, convenient parking, fitness options and a child care facility.
The company, Bartlett wrote, is also focused on environmental issues and ways to conserve energy. New construction will include solar panels atop parking decks, energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems and regionally sourced building materials.
