As the holiday season approaches, Walmart is rolling out new initiatives in-store and online that will ease the shopping experience for consumers.
Starting November 1, Walmart will be positioning associates in the busiest areas of the store to help shoppers pay for items and bypass long checkout lines at the front of the store. Store associates will assist customers by using portable devices that will allow for a credit card to be swiped while providing a paper or electronic receipt.
In addition, Walmart will also offer a broader assortment of products in stores and online. On Walmart.com, the company said it has added more than 2,000 brands with additions in housewares including names such as DeLonghi and Braun. Expanded assortments from brands including Keurig and KitchenAid will also be on display.
These newly announced initiatives follow recent announcements by Walmart that includes expanding its free, two-day shipping program to cover a broader selection of products and its revamped website that includes a broader selection of housewares and home products.
