Walmart has updated its app, adding a shopping aid it has dubbed Store Assistant.
Shoppers opening the app in stores will encounter Store Assistant functionality and it is said to make shopping faster and easier including with Walmart Pay. The company noted that it also has made the product search bar and the scanner easier to find, so app users can quickly read reviews, find items in store and double-check prices.
In other developments, Walmart has made list building within the app more convenient by allowing consumers to enter general terms such as “milk” and check item stock at a local store.
Walmart also said it plans to make shopping even simpler by creating a map unique to each of its 4,700 stores. Maps are accessible at a handful of stores now and availability will continue to expand, the retailer stated.
