Wayfair Opening First Full-Time Brick-And-Mortar Store

As part of its systematic initiation of brick-and-mortar retail, Wayfair has scheduled the opening of the company’s first, full-service physical retail store for August 21 at the Natick Mall in Natick, MA.

The store will carry hundreds of furnishings items in a selection that includes products for every room in the home, Wayfair stated. Stocked for in-store purchase, the store also will feature certain curated spaces with products available for home delivery. In addition to browsing, shoppers can visit the store’s Wayfair Home Bar for complementary design advice and the opportunity to digitally style a room in virtual reality. And they can tap Wayfair’s Custom Upholstery program to put together handcrafted furniture pieces by choosing from hundreds of colors and fabrics to create furnishings consistent with their individual styles and budgets.

“We are pleased to open our first-ever, full-service retail store and invite consumers to engage with the Wayfair brand and enjoy our exceptional shopping experience in this exciting new format,” said Ed Macri, Wayfair chief product and marketing officer. “Consumers can visit the Wayfair store for inspiration, select from hundreds of items available off-the-shelf, and shop Wayfair’s full catalog of 14 million products across every style and price point, all with the helpful support of trusted design consultants at every step. Whether completely redesigning a space or making decorative updates, the Wayfair store provides yet another way for our customers to seamlessly navigate the entire shopping experience for home and make their own unique home visions a reality.”

In addition to debuting the full-time store, Wayfair opened four Decor & Inspiration Pop-up Shops on August 1, one each at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL; the Streets at Southpoint in Durham, NC; the King of Prussia Mall in King of Prussia, PA; and Tysons Corner Center in Tysons, VA. Consumers can check out the pop-up shops to view a curated product selection spanning decorative accents, wall decor and seasonal pieces for immediate, in-store purchase through October 31.

In the previous holiday season, Wayfair operated pop up shops in Natick and Paramus, NJ. The company opened an outlet store in Florence, KY, in February.
