Wayfair is partnering with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 veterans.
The homes help restore some of the freedom and independence veterans sacrificed while serving, Wayfair noted, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery and rebuilding their lives.
Wayfair is working with HFOT to furnish homes for veterans and their families, raise awareness for the organization’s mission and drive fundraising to enable more home building. In just a few months, the partnership has raised more than $200,000, with thousands of Wayfair customers donating to the organization, the retailer said.
Wayfair worked recently with HFOT recipient Marine Lance Corporal John Curtin and his family to furnish a brand new, fully accessible home outside of Nashville, TN. Wayfair worked with the Curtin family to furnish each room in the 2,800-square foot, ADA compliant home.
“We’re honored to partner with Homes For Our Troops and take part in this important mission to provide comfortable homes for our veterans nationwide,” said Niraj Shah, Wayfair CEO, co-founder and co-chairman. “At Wayfair, we believe everyone should live in a home they love, and we know this partnership will continue to be meaningful for our customers, our employees and our company.”
