West Elm announced today that it will open a new retail store in Birmingham, MI, on Thursday, October 2. Located in downtown Birmingham, the more than 15,000-square-foot store will feature a curated selection of products made in Michigan, part of the retailer’s Local initiative.
“Michigan has long been revered as a manufacturing hub in the United States,” West Elm president Jim Brett said. “We are excited to celebrate this community of makers in our new store.”
To represent the area, the new store will feature a mosaic of industrial molds previously used in metal fabrications. The molds are in various shapes, colors, corresponding to the different metal materials the molds once helped shape.
