West Elm plans to open a new store in San Antonio, TX, on Thursday, June 30.
The 11,000-square-foot-store is housed in a revitalized warehouse across from the thriving Pearl Brewing district, a 16-block pedestrian-friendly cultural redevelopment neighborhood, the company said. West Elm’s seventh Texas store features the brand’s fall assortment for modern living, a selection of Texas-made goods, and a signature Design Lab with complimentary design services.
“This area of the River City has a long and special history with San Antonians, from manufacturing to entertainment,” said Jim Brett, West Elm president. “We hope our new store renews that sense of place and community, while serving as a unique source of inspiration for the Pearl District.”
To celebrate the opening, West Elm partnered with San Antonio-based artist Himanshu Sharma to design an exclusive tote bag, presented to the first 300 shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase. Additional store opening activities include a sweepstakes offering local customers a chance to win a $2,000 gift card and an invitation to a private pre-opening celebration to benefit Artpace.
The West Elm in San Antonio will also offer a Local assortment from makers in Texas, including two from San Antonio.
West Elm operates 88 retail stores.
