Williams-Sonoma is partnering with celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis for a 13-city tour to launch her new cookbook, Happy Cooking. To bring awareness to the event and book, the retailer will merchandise her new book along with “Giada’s Picks,” a selection of the chef’s favorite cookware, kitchen tools and other products in all of its retail stores.
The retailer will offer a limited supply of signed books for sale at the events, and De Laurentiis will share inspiration from her new book and answer audience questions at the interactive engagements. Additionally, the retailer will feature holiday-themed spreads in its November and December catalogs with De Laurentiis sharing recipes and tips from her book.
“We’re so excited to partner with Giada for the holidays. Her sense of warmth and family traditions are an inspiration to our brand,” said Janet Hayes, president, Williams-Sonoma.
Additionally, De Laurentiis will contribute to the Williams-Sonoma social media channels and blog, Taste. All stores will host a Happy Cooking cookbook club event on Wednesday, November 11 at 6 p.m., including a culinary demo of Thanksgiving-style recipes from the book.
The book tour begins on November 3 in Hartford, CT, and concludes in San Diego, CA, on November 17. The event book tour series will also take place in Stamford, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Boston, Coral Springs, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Mesa and San Jose.
