Williams-Sonoma is bringing a new shopping experience to its newest location at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, which opens today, August 28. The store features a comprehensive Williams-Sonoma Home showroom featuring a dedicated design center, a demonstration kitchen and a unique layout that connects it with an adjacent restaurant, the company said.
This will be the retailer’s eighth location nationally to include a Williams-Sonoma Home Showroom and the first in the South. The location will feature a direct pass-through to Chef Jonathan Waxman’s latest dining venture, which has been appointed by Williams-Sonoma, and a glass wall strategically placed between the restaurant and retail location. This type of design is the first in Williams-Sonoma’s history and is said to offer guests an immersive culinary experience with an exclusive view into the dining room.
“This location represents a shared vision for a completely new retail experience that brings together the community to shop, cook, dine and be entertained. We’re thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with chef Jonathan Waxman as well on his restaurant and for the excitement he will bring to our culinary program here,” said Janet Hayes, president of Williams-Sonoma.
The retail store will boast over 6,500 square feet of shopping space, including the Williams-Sonoma Home showroom and design center, which offers complimentary design services. A twelve-seat cooking island in the center of the store will host free technique classes on Saturdays, and junior chef classes as well.
The grand opening of the Ponce City Market location will include a book signing by celebrity chef and singer Trisha Yearwood, as well as other acclaimed chefs. Vendors from Le Creuset, Nespresso and Shun will also be on hand to host a number of workshops, the retailer said.
