San Francisco-based Williams-Sonoma Inc. will be opening a regional distribution hub in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to local reports. The chosen site is the newly developed Arlington Commerce Center, a 821,502-square-foot distribution center at 4900 Sherry St. near Interstate 20 and State Highway 360 in Arlington, the only distribution center of its kind available for lease at the time of the deal, according to the reports.
Williams-Sonoma is expected to hire more than 100 workers to operate its North Texas distribution facility. Additionally, the report noted that the company is working with the city of Arlington on an economic incentive package for the deal.
According to the report, Chris Teesdale and Tom Pearson of Colliers International represented Williams-Sonoma and noted that the new facility will allow the retailer to more efficiently deliver on its internet sales and provide faster shipping to its Southwest customer base.
